– English speaking sangha meets weekly on Friday night practices starting at 6:30 PM. Lights are dimmed 15 minutes before to create an ambient setting to receive members for meditation. Practice include walking and sitting meditation, tea meditation, dharma discussion, dharma talks, tea, and chanting. These practices are conducted in English.Sunday Morning
– A joint weekly public service between Vietnamese and English speaking sanghas occurs on Sunday morning at 10:30 AM. Chanting is done in Vietnamese with English translation in our chanting books. Dharma talks given by the Master, Abbot, or Venerable guests, are translated live; and headphones are available for those wishing to listen to the translated version. The service is followed by a complimentary vegetarian lunch.Monthly Practices:
In addition to the weekly practices, Truc Lam Monastery conducts a Monthly Retreat (Mindfulness Day) in English. Practice starts at 9:00 AM and ends at 5PM on a pre-determined Saturday of each month. The day includes sitting and walking meditation, mindful eating, total relaxation, and Dharma talks and discussion. Registration is required to attend this practice.
